Besides the grand event of the 2013 Grammy’s this past weekend (with TV series, Breaking Bad, bringing home a huge win), I wanted to do a quick blog on the much anticipated 2013 IHeartRadio Concert. For those of you who are unfamiliar with iHeartRadio, it was originally founded by Clear Channel Broadcastings Inc, as an internet radio platform. However, as popularity embraced the radio platform, it now functions as both a music recommender system as well as a radio network that plays content from over 800 local stations over the United Sates. Most importantly, the iHeartRadio network gives away hundreds of trips to the “biggest live music event of the year”, which is held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This year, the third annual iHeartRadio Music Festival occurred over the weekend, bringing together pop sensations from this generation and the previous generation. The two-day festival performance line up includes huge names such as Katy Perry, Queen ft. Adam Lambert, Elton John, Keith Urban, Tiesto, Robin Thicke, Justin Timberlake, Paul McCartney, Maroon 5 and more. As if this line up wasn’t enough, iHeartRadio decided to step up their standards by adding another stage called the ‘Village Stage’, where teenage sensation such as Miley Cyrus and heartthrobs The Wanted graced the audience with their presence.
